Hull city centre roadworks to start next week
GoogleDiversions are to be introduced in Hull city centre from Monday during roadworks.
Lanes on Freetown Way will be narrowed as part of a scheme which includes the return of two lanes of traffic in each direction and cycle tracks.
Part of George Street, between the junctions with Freetown Way and Wincolmlee, will be closed eastbound for pipework from Monday, and a closure of the westbound carriageway will start on 5 May.
The work is due to last until 24 May.
A planned eastbound slip road closure at Market Place has been postponed to help to ease congestion, Hull City Council said.
Chris Jackson, the council's director for regeneration and partnerships, said: "The council is undertaking these works simultaneously to help minimise disruption."
