Firefighters have worked through the night to deal with a fire at a former nightclub in Stoke-on-Trent.

They were called to the disused four-storey property on Trinity Street in Hanley just after 19:00 BST on Thursday and sealed off the surrounding area.

The crews remained at the scene until the morning to make it safe.

An investigation is due to get under way into the cause of the fire at the building, which was once home to Groove Castle.
