Bradley Whieldon died on Friday at the scene of an incident on Brookhouse Road in Meir, Stoke-on-Trent

The family of a teenager who died after police were called to an incident in Meir on Friday have paid tribute to him, saying "Our hearts will never be full again."

Bradley Whieldon, from Abbey Hulton, Stoke-on-Trent, died at the scene of an incident on Brookhouse Road, at around 23:45 BST.

Another man, in his late teens, who was seriously injured in the incident, remains in a stable condition in hospital, police said.

A 17-year-old British Asian boy from Hanley, who cannot be named because of his age, was charged with murder and attempted murder.

A tribute from Whieldon's family read: "Where do we begin with our Bradders, the most kindest, genuine soul anyone could ever meet.

"The person who'd light up any room they'd walk into and their personality would instantly shine through.

"Your laugh, your wit, your dancing and constant singing and rapping filled our home with pure joy.

"Life will never, ever, be the same without you and our hearts will never be full again. A life with such potential taken far too soon.

"Your memory will live on through us all and you will never ever be forgotten.

"All our love, forever, Mum, Dad and family."

The 17-year-old accused of Whieldon's murder appeared at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Tuesday and at Stafford Crown Court on Wednesday.

The teenager was remanded in a youth detention centre ahead of his next hearing at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 23 November.

On Sunday, officers were given more time to question four other people arrested as part of their investigation, and a further two people were also arrested. All six were later released on bail.

Officers attended the property in Meir on Friday following reports of violence.
