Jersey Airport said temporary arrangements had been made to make things smoother for passengers during the construction

Passengers passing through Jersey Airport will find a revised layout this summer while work to revamp its departure lounge continues.

The airport said the revised interim layout would "balance comfort and convenience" while construction progressed on airport improvements.

It said the next phase of the redevelopment would be open in October and include a "modern seating area" and a Martello Tower inspired lift to a new mezzanine level with runway views.

Dale Reeson, airport managing director, said: "These temporary arrangements have been carefully planned so people can travel with ease, while we continue investing in the future of the airport."

Reeson added: "With the busy summer season approaching, my focus is on making sure every passenger feels welcomed and enjoys a smooth, comfortable start to their journey."

Jersey Airport said the new design "captures the spirit of Jersey" and was a collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, Brighter Futures, Visit Jersey, Durrell, the National Trust for Jersey and ArtHouse Jersey.

The Jersey theme would be brought to life through a series of installations by local artists, including embedded aerial photography, ceramic skylarks and woven wicker cows, it said.

The redevelopment also includes more airport shops and a redesigned family area.

The final phase will see the opening of the new restaurant and bar and should be ready to welcome passengers in summer 2027, the airport said.
