Bordeaux flights set to 'strengthen connectivity'

Flights to a European city will mark an "exciting step forward" for Jersey, island officials have said.

Loganair announced it would be launching services to Bordeaux in France as part of the airline's summer schedule from Jersey Airport.

It said the flights would be twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, from 19 June until 5 October as part of the company's "continued commitment to strengthening connectivity".

Ports of Jersey chief executive Matt Thomas said the new flights represented a "valuable opportunity" for the island's tourism industry.

"The introduction of direct flights to Bordeaux marks an exciting step forward for Jersey's European connectivity," Thomas said.

Ronnie Matheson, chief commercial officer at Loganair, said the airline was delighted to introduce the flights to its summer along with routes to Paris, Norwich and East Midlands.

Matheson added: "We remain committed to enhancing connectivity for Jersey and this latest addition, alongside our wider network of seasonal services, ensures customers have even greater choice when planning their summer travel."
