Deep water cuts off roads as flash floods hit town

Video showed drivers and pedestrians crossing roads submerged in deep water after heavy rain caused flash flooding.

The footage showed cars abandoned on Wherstead Road in Ipswich on Tuesday night, while some bus services in the town were diverted.

Anglian Water said: "Our network is designed to manage this, and we'll continue to drain as the rain eases."

Emergency services regularly urge people to avoid attempting to drive or wade through flood-water.
