Woman in her 50s dies after Limavady crash
BBCA woman has died after she was hit by a car in County Londonderry.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said officers were called to reports of a collision on the Drumrane Road area of Limavady at about 14:50 BST on Sunday.
The woman, aged in her 50s, was treated at the scene by ambulance crews but died a short time later as a result of her injuries, police said.
The Drumrane Road, which was closed for a time following the incident, has now reopened.
SDLP MLA Cara Hunter said there is a "a real sense of shock and sadness in Limavady" following the woman's death.
"Above all, there is a family grieving the loss of someone they loved, and I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to them at this tragic time," Hunter said.
Police have appealed for anyone with information or who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
