Man, 48, charged over £895,000 cannabis seizure

A man has appeared in court over the seizure of a "significant" amount of cannabis from three properties in Edinburgh.

Gang Li was arrested after police raided premises in Breadalbane Street in Bonnington, Salamander Street in Leith and Western Harbour Way in Newhaven on Tuesday.

Police said a large quantity of the class B drug, with an estimated street value of about £895,000, was recovered along with an unspecified amount of cash.

Li, 48, made no plea to a single charge under the Misue of Drugs Act at Edinburgh Sheriff Court and was granted bail while the case was committed for further examination at a later date.
