Road closed after pedestrian hit by tram in Edinburgh
BBCPolice have closed a section of Leith Walk in Edinburgh after a pedestrian was hit by a tram.
The road is shut between Crighton Place and Albert Street. Five police vehicles and an ambulance were at the scene on Sunday morning.
The incident is reported to have happened at about 09:00.
Police have advised road users to avoid the area. The road has been cordoned off and traffic is being diverted to alternatives routes.
Edinburgh Trams said it could only cover part of the route between Edinburgh Airport and St Andrews Square, and people could use their tickets on Lothian Buses between St Andrew Square and Newhaven in both directions.
A spokesperson said: "We are currently working with emergency services following an incident on Leith Walk involving a tram this morning.
"We are unable to give any details at this time."
