A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after a man was stabbed during a house party, according to police.

The incident happened at 23:25 BST on Saturday in Church Eaton, Staffordshire. Officers said they were called by paramedics, responding to a report of a stabbing at a house on Church Eaton Road.

A large group of young people were understood to have attended a house party, where a man was then stabbed, police said.

The victim was taken to hospital and was discharged on Sunday.

The boy, from south Staffordshire, was arrested on suspicion of wounding. He was questioned and later released on conditional bail while inquiries continue.

"We're still keen to hear from anyone who hasn't already spoken to officers who may have any information that can help with our investigation," a spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said.

"This includes CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from the area at the time."
