Jamie Fowler was sentenced to two years in prison for breaching his order

A man who repeatedly approached a 15-year-old girl as she walked home from school has been jailed for two years.

Jamie Fowler, 32, from Locking in North Somerset, who was banned from making contact with females under the age of 16 as part of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), made "inappropriate and sexualised comments" about her appearance in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, on 15 July 2025.

Natalie Dalton, from Wiltshire Police, praised the bravery of Fowler's victim and said the defendant was "fully aware" of the restrictions on him as part of the order, which has been in place for more than a decade.

Fowler admitted breaching the SHPO at Swindon Crown Court and was sentenced on 13 October.

The girl was left in "considerable fear and distress" after Fowler drove to Trowbridge and made a sustained effort to engage her in conversation, turning his vehicle around several times in the process, the court heard.

The teenager called a parent to collect her immediately as she was frightened about what might have happened next.

Dalton said: "No young person should feel unsafe while walking home from school. The impact of Fowler's actions on the victim has been significant."

She added that reporting incidents can be "incredibly daunting" and commended the victim for her "courage and maturity".

Fowler was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years, will be included on the Children's Barred List and Adults' Barred List, and ordered to pay a surcharge of £187.
