Woman, in 70s, dies in hospital after crash

Police said the collision happened on the B1040 Potton Road, at Abbotsley

A woman has died in hospital and a man has life-threatening injuries after a collision in Cambridgeshire.

Police were called to a crash involving a Renault GRD Modus Dynamique and a white DAF truck on the B1040 Potton Road, Abbotsley, at 11:52 BST on Monday.

The 73-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Renault, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, in Cambridge, where she died on Tuesday, police said.

The driver of the car, an 84-year-old man from St Neots, was taken to the same hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remained. The driver of the lorry, a 46-year-old man from Sandy, Bedfordshire, was uninjured.

Officers asked for anyone with any information to contact the force.
