Rapist jailed for 18 years after multiple attacks
Thames Valley PoliceA man has been jailed for 18 years after being convicted of multiple rapes in cases investigated by two police forces.
Sean Wilcox, 35, was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court for offences committed in areas covered by Thames Valley and Bedfordshire forces.
Wilcox, who had lived in Sandy, Bedfordshire, admitted two counts of rape and two counts of assault in a case Bedfordshire Police said followed abuse carried out over a number of years.
In a separate case Wilcox was found guilty of rape after Thames Valley Police said he entered an unlocked Newport Pagnell home in July 2025 and attacked a 29-year-old woman sleeping on a sofa.
In that case he was also convicted of five counts of theft from motor vehicle, three counts of fraud, two counts of burglary, theft, theft from a person, possessing a class A drug and possessing a class B drug.
Thames Valley Police said he had been attempting to gain entry to vehicles and trying doors of nearby houses.
Det Con Jessica Cooper said: "The bravery and courage shown by the victim throughout this investigation has been admirable.
"This was a deeply traumatic offence committed against a woman who was asleep in a place where she had every right to feel safe.
The victim in the Bedfordshire case described her lasting trauma in a victim impact statement.
She wrote: "Simply being awake felt like a nightmare. I was so ashamed. I was his victim, but I didn't really know it. I just knew shame and humiliation. The mental scars live with me all day, every day."
