Seal pup that got 'a little lost' rescued from beach
Fylde Ranger ServiceA seal has been rescued after getting "a little lost" on a Lancashire beach, conservationists said.
Rangers from Fylde Council said they were told about the young common seal in St Annes on Saturday morning.
The tide was coming in but the pup "was not keen to return to the sea", they said in a post on Facebook.
"There was already a trained British Divers Marine Life Rescue member there. Between us we made sure the seal was safe and undisturbed until another trained rescuer arrived with some equipment," it said.
"Pip the pup, as we named it, was taken away to a nearby vets where it will be assessed."
