A man who raped two teenagers has been jailed for 10 years at the High Court in Edinburgh.

Alan Bryson-Sword, 49, formerly of Eyemouth, had denied a series of charges during an earlier trial but was convicted by a jury of three charges.

He assaulted his first victim - who was 14 when the abuse began - on various occasions between September 2013 and August 2017 at locations in Dundee and Berwickshire and repeatedly raped him.

He attacked a second teenager - aged 17 - in June 2023 at a house in Berwickshire and pushed him to the ground and raped him.

Defence solicitor advocate Ewen Roy told the court: "He recognises a lengthy sentence is inevitable given the jury's verdict and the serious nature of the charges."

He added that Bryson-Sword had a good childhood and went on to have a "long, settled relationship" as an adult.

He said he also had a good employment record and participated in volunteer work.

Judge John Morris KC told Bryson-Sword that he would be placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.

He also made non-harassment orders banning him from contacting or attempting to contact his victims.
