Man found 'cowering in swamp' after police pursuit
Video showed the moment a dangerous driver was found hiding in a swamp at the end of a high-speed pursuit.
Essex Police said the man was followed at speeds of more than 100mph (161km/h) along the A13 into London on 14 January, at times driving on the wrong side of the carriageway.
He later abandoned the car near Rainham and was seen on bodycam footage being chased on foot by an officer and his dog, who discovered him "cowering in swampy grassland by the roadside", a spokesperson said.
The man was arrested and has now been jailed after pleading guilty to driving dangerously, driving while disqualified and using a vehicle without insurance.
PC Martin Swain and his dog Kaiser have since been given a canine crimefighting award by the National Police Chiefs' Council for their work.
