Sport Aberdeen chief executive leaves amid investigation
Getty ImagesSport Aberdeen's chief executive has left the organisation - shortly after it was announced it was being investigated by Scotland's charity regulator.
The leisure operator runs more than 30 indoor and outdoor sports venues in the city.
The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) said last month there was concern about Sport Aberdeen, and it was then placed under formal investigation earlier this month.
Chief executive Keith Heslop was replaced by an interim chief executive in November. Now Sport Aberdeen has said he will not be returning to the role.
Sport Aberdeen receives millions of pounds in annual funding from Aberdeen City Council.
Sport Aberdeen said in a statement: "We can confirm that Keith Heslop is no longer employed by Sport Aberdeen as of 19 May.
"The current interim staffing arrangements will remain in place for the time being."
The interim chief executive is Graeme Dale.
Two council officers, Gale Beattie and Martin Murchie, joined its board earlier this month.
Aberdeen City Council declined to comment.
