Seven charged with murder after fatal shooting

Seven people have been charged with murder nearly two years after a fatal shooting, with 11 people facing charges in total.

Mustapha Jatta, 30, from Nottingham, died from gunshot wounds after being found injured by police in Kings Langley, near Watford, at about 00:30 BST on 17 September 2024.

As well as the seven suspected of murder, Hertfordshire Police said three people had been charged with participating in an organised crime group while a woman was accused of perverting the course of justice.

Det Insp Adam Bridges said: "Our focus throughout has been on securing the best possible evidence and seeking answers for Mustapha's family, who continue to feel the devastating impact of his loss."

The Watford residents charged with murder are Marc Brummitt, 22, of Garsmouth Way, Louise Corker, 21, of The Phillipers, and Blessing Yeboah, 21, of Baxter Road.

Also charged with murder are Chandler Orpin, 29, of Bakers Mews, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, and Dwayne Flemming, 37, of Victoria Way, London.

All are scheduled to appear at St Albans Crown Court on Thursday.

Carlito Dujon, 21, and Sean Barnabie, 43, both of no fixed address, will appear at Hatfield Remand Court on the same day, also charged with murder.

Watford residents Archie Rodney, 19, of Baxter Road, and Akala De Lisser, 20, of Kingswood Road, have been charged with participating in an organised crime group.

Jake Chapman, 33, of Adomar Road, Dagenham, has been charged with the same offence.

Meanwhile, Kayleigh Sgambati, 40, of Dodd Road, Watford, has been charged with two counts of perverting the course of justice.

Those four have been released on conditional bail and are scheduled to appear at St Albans Crown Court on 11 August.
