Residents told to keep windows shut after farm fire
Kent Fire and Rescue ServiceResidents living near a farm in Kent have been advised to keep their doors and windows shut after a fire broke out overnight.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to a fire at a farm in Sweets Lane, East Malling, just before 22:00 BST on Friday.
As of 09:00 on Saturday the fire, which had spread to machinery, outbuildings and a large amount of wood chip and logs, was out, but smoke remained in the air.
Six fire engines and a bulk water carrier were in attendance on Friday night, with crews since dampening down to check for any remaining hot spots.
