A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after a man was allegedly beaten with batons and a large barbecue fork by a group of young people.

Gloucestershire Police said officers were called to Churchdown Skatepark at around 21:40 BST on Sunday to reports a group wearing balaclavas had attacked the man, with one attempting to stab him with the large fork, before stealing his e-bike.

The victim was then allegedly run over by e-bikes ridden by the group, and was taken to hospital for treatment due to minor injuries and concussion.

The 17-year-old, from Cheltenham, was arrested following a search involving the National Police Air Service.

During the search, police said they found one of the suspects riding an e-bike which matched a description of the one that had been stolen.

The teenager was arrested on Edendale Road in Cheltenham, before being released on conditional bail.

In a statement Gloucestershire Police said it was trying to identify the others from the group using CCTV footage, and was keen to hear from any witnesses.
