Man denies stealing £100,000 watch from actor

Rachid Bouchibane will face a trial in January 2029

A man accused of stealing a Patek Philippe watch worth £100,000 from a film actor in central London has been told he must wait until 2029 for his trial.

Rachid Bouchibane, 27, is charged with robbing Alexander Johnson of the luxury watch on 10 June 2024 in Westminster. He denied a charge of robbery at Southwark Crown Court on Monday.

British actor and producer Johnson, 39, has appeared in films including Kristen Stewart's The Chronology of Water and the political thriller, The Wizard of the Kremlin.

He previously told the Mirror that the watch was a Patek Philippe Aquanaut, and said the robbery happened as he rode home through Mayfair on a Lime rental bike after an acting audition.

During Monday's hearing, Judge Alexander Milne KC adjourned the case until a trial which is due to start on 22 January 2029.

Bouchibane has been released on bail, with a condition that he lives and sleeps each night at his home in Hornsey, north London.
