A West Yorkshire Police officer has been convicted of sexually assaulting a woman after a party.

Jack Blagbrough, 32, assaulted the woman at a house in the Bradford area on 23 August 2024.

He was found guilty after a trial at Sheffield Crown Court and will be sentenced on 15 December.

The serving Kirklees officer will also face disciplinary proceedings, West Yorkshire Police said.

During his trial, jurors heard Blagbrough and the victim had travelled to a house in the Bradford area by taxi with their drunken friend, where Blagbrough had previously arranged to spend the night.

Giving evidence, Blagbrough said the woman had cleaned up the vomit of their friend and made a sandwich for him before sitting next to Blagbrough on a sofa.

He said he had initiated a kiss, but denied trying to kiss her multiple times, rubbing her back, pulling her onto his lap, touching her bottom and pulling up her dress.

He was convicted of the offence by a jury on Thursday.

Det Ch Supt Wilkins said: "The public rightly expects police officers who protect them to operate to the highest standards, and we will absolutely not tolerate one of our officers acting in the manner that PC Blagbrough did.

"Gross misconduct proceedings will now commence following his conviction."
