An investigation into a glider crash is still ongoing a year after a 71-year-old pilot was seriously injured in the incident.

Wiltshire Police were called to a field in Milston, near Durrington in Wiltshire, just before 19:00 BST on 25 May, 2025 in response to the light aircraft accident.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has issued a statement on the anniversary of the crash and said a final report is due to be published soon.

It is also "reviewing the process for contacting the emergency services in the event of an aircraft accident" according to the organisation's latest update.

The glider - an LS8-E model - hit the ground near Milston while trying to land in a field.

It was badly damaged and the pilot, 71, was taken to hospital with a head injury.

The AAIB added: "The investigation is ongoing... and a final report will be published in due course."
