'We converted a horse box into stage for musicians'
Ciaran GallenA 20-year-old and his great-grandad have transformed a horse trailer into a stage for grassroots musicians.
Over the past seven months, Dylan Reescoshan has been working hard with 87-year-old Colin on the renovation of a vintage Richardson trailer, all while documenting the journey on social media.
Together the duo have converted it into The Centaur Stage that made its debut at Corfe Castle, Dorset, during the bank holiday weekend.
Reescoshan, who is a musician as well a promoter and events manager, said converting the horse trailer has been a "lovely, thrilling ride".
Ciaran GallenReescoshan said he planned to go to Warwick University to study history and politics, but decided on a gap year that he wanted to go into music instead.
After a conversation with his mum in September, they drove to Somerset and bought the trailer for just over £1,000.
"The horse box for me is this brilliant, amazing thing, because I can now bring it wherever I want to at whatever time and put it there," said Reescoshan.
"It also means that I can achieve my massive dream, which is to support grassroots musicians."
"I think that we need to look to the talent that's up and coming as much as we look at the talent we already have in country.
"I'm just excited to be a part of that really."
Colin, who has passed on his knowledge of how to use power tools, said it has been "great" watching his great-grandson working on the project.
"You have a plan, it doesn't matter what the plan is, we will solve the problems and work all the way through - and it all works extremely well," he said.
