Man arrested after pedestrian killed in crash

A man has been arrested after a pedestrian in his 80s died after being hit by a Vauxhall Astra.

Northamptonshire Police said it happened on Cottingham Road in Corby at about 16:30 BST on Saturday.

The man was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries.

The driver of the blue Astra, a man in his 40s, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released on bail.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit want to hear from witnesses to the crash, or anyone who may have dashcam footage.
