A man accused of murdering an innocent bystander outside a bar has failed to appear in court.

Shanice Brookes, 30, was shot while on a night out at One Four One in Sheffield city centre in the early hours of 25 May.

Thirty-year-old Jemele Rhone, of Outram Road, Sheffield, was due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court earlier charged with murdering the mother-of-one but did not leave his cell.

Co-defendant Deiryen Dyce, 32, of Ellesmere Road North, Sheffield, appeared in person and denied seven charges including assisting an offender, possession of ammunition, possession of drugs and possession of criminal property.

A trial is due to take place on 18 January 2027.
