Bones found on a building site were animal remains and not human, police have confirmed.

Guernsey Police said officers were called out to a worksite near Elizabeth College in St Peter Port on Thursday after contractors uncovered the bones.

The force said analysis showed the bones were from animals rather than humans.

"There are no suspicious circumstances around this matter," a force spokesperson added.
