Man charged after neighbourhood rooftop stand-off
Lancashire PoliceA man has been charged with assault, strangulation and arson after a six-hour rooftop stand-off which saw nearby homes evacuated.
The episode happened on Bolton Road in Chorley at about 09:15 BST on Sunday.
Lancashire Police said a man refused to come down then began throwing objects from the roof and setting small fires.
Christopher Jones, 41, of Daisy Hill Drive, Adlington, was due to appear at Preston Magistrates' Court earlier on Tuesday.
Jones is charged with four assault offences including two relating to an emergency worker, intentional strangulation, threats to kill, arson with intent to endanger life, plus two counts of criminal damage and intentionally or recklessly causing a public nuisance.
