Church of Ireland staff member suspended after sexual assault investigation

The Church of Ireland has said that a member of staff has been suspended pending the outcome of a police investigation into allegations of sexual assault.

It comes as a 42-year-old man has been released on bail after being arrested on suspicion offences including rape.

A report was made to police in Moira, County Down, on Friday.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland said an investigation remains ongoing.
