A boy was airlifted to hospital as a precaution following a crash on Little Coates Road, Grimsby, on Wednesday

An 11-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital after he was involved in a crash with a van in Grimsby earlier.

Humberside Police said the child was riding a bicycle on Little Coates Road at about 14:50 BST when the collision happened.

Officers said the boy is believed to have suffered minor injuries but was taken for medical treatment as a precaution.

The road was closed for a number of hours following the incident but has since reopened.
