An open day is to be held at a nature reserve which is home to otters, barn owls, kingfishers and grass snakes.

Yorkshire Water is inviting people to the annual event at Tophill Low Nature Reserve, near Driffield, to take part in treasure trails, pond dipping and other wildlife-based activities on 14 June.

Visitors will be able to hear from more than 20 conservation exhibitors, as well as biosecurity, education and nature reserve teams.

Warden Chester Smith said: "We're hoping that people will once again turn up in their numbers to hear all about the conservation efforts underway at both Tophill Low, and in the wider community."

Representatives from Visit Hull and East Yorkshire, the RSPB, Yorkshire Coast Nature and Friends of Lower Derwent Valley Group will also be at the event.

It will run from 10:00 until 16:00 BST. Light bites and drinks will be available.
