Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenager died over the Easter weekend.

The men, aged 19 and 21, were arrested by Kent Police as part of an investigation into the death of Ashton Harrington, who was stabbed in the early hours of 3 April, in Belmont Road, Whitstable.

They were arrested at a property in Romney Court in Sittingbourne and remain in custody, a police spokesperson said.

Det Ch Insp Emma Lawry said: "Over the last week, officers have carried out a number of enquiries, including appealing for two men we would like to speak to."

Police said patrols have taken place in Sittingbourne, Herne Bay and Ramsgate as part of the investigation.

They thanked the public for their support into the investigation.
