Police seize modified e-bikes and scooters
West Midlands PoliceMore than a dozen illegal e-bikes and scooters have been seized in Birmingham, police have said.
West Midlands Police intercepted riders and tested the bikes to see if they had been modified.
The force conducted the operation on Friday, with 13 vehicles seized and tickets issued to riders driving in pedestrianised areas. One bike had been modified to reach speeds of almost 50mph, it said.
Bikes that were seized in the city centre operation will be crushed.
