Police are appealing for information

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) is appealing for witnesses after a shot was fired at a house in County Down.

Police said they received a report around 23:25 BST on Tuesday of a broken window at a property in the Half Acre Lane area of Newtownards.

One person was in the house at the time, however, no one was injured in the incident.

The PSNI also said that a masked man, dressed in black, was seen in the area holding what appeared to be a small handgun, before making off towards Church Street.

It is believed the shot was fired just a few minutes before the report was made to police.
