A seven-year-old boy has died in hospital after emergency services were called to reports of a child in water.

East of England Ambulance NHS Trust (EEAST) said it was called to Wimblington, near March, Cambridgeshire, at about 14:00 BST on Monday.

Cambridgeshire Police confirmed the incident happened at the Priory Golf Centre, that the death was not being treated as suspicious, and that a file had been passed to the coroner.

The force said no arrests had been made.

"We dispatched an ambulance, ambulance officer vehicle, rapid response vehicle and the Magpas Air Ambulance," an EEAST spokesperson added.

The child was taken to Peterborough City Hospital, it said.
