Elderly woman rescued after car crashes into shop

One person was trapped in the car after it crashed through the wall

A woman in her 80s has been rescued after the car she was in crashed through the wall of a shop.

It happened at the Next store on Apsley Retail Park in Hemel Hempstead at about 15:30 BST on Wednesday.

Hertfordshire Police said a "blue Audi Q4 had collided with a wall" and the fire service confirmed one person was trapped in the car.

The woman was rescued from the vehicle and left in the care of the East of England Ambulance Service. No arrests have been made.

The shop was evacuated after the incident.
