A man has admitted manslaughter over the death of a man who suffered a head injury outside a Home Bargains store in Blackburn.

Connor Doyle, 43, pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court over the death of Marek Krygier after an altercation outside the retailer's Byrom Street branch on 27 March.

The Polish national was seriously injured and died in hospital the following day, Lancashire Police said.

The court heard Krygier had a low platelet count and a previous haematoma which made him particularly vulnerable to a fatal bleed.

Prosecutor Joe Allman said it was "highly likely" the victim would not have died had he not had those underlying health conditions.

Doyle, of Cheltenham Road in Blackburn, will be sentenced on 9 December.
