Grantham Meres Leisure Centre is one of three that will benefit from new changing rooms

More than £300,000 will be spent on upgrading the changing rooms at three leisure centres and a sports stadium.

South Kesteven District Council will spend £321,222 across Bourne Leisure Centre, Stamford Leisure Pool, Grantham Meres Leisure Centre and South Kesteven Sports Stadium.

The improvement works will include revamping changing rooms, upgrading lighting and replacing ceiling tiles, doors, taps, mirrors and dispenser units.

The council warned of some disruption while the work is carried out, but said it was assessing the possible impact in order to keep it to a minimum.

The refurbishments are part of a £1m two-phase scheme, aimed at refurbishing the equipment and changing rooms at each of the facilities.

Phase one focuses on upgrading changing room facilities.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the funding for the first phase of the project has been broken down as:

  • £80,829 for Bourne Leisure Centre
  • £72,032 for Stamford Leisure Pool
  • £92,962 for Grantham Meres Leisure Centre
  • £75,399 for South Kesteven Sports Stadium

At a meeting on Tuesday, deputy council leader Paul Stokes said: "This council recognises the need to invest in each of the centres to continue to provide a positive customer experience."

Northdown Property Services will be carrying out the repairs.
