Court hearing for murder charge over woman's death

A court hearing has been held in connection with the death of a 27-year-old woman at a house in Horncastle.

Police were called to a property on Warwickshires Way at about 16:20 BST on 2 April and found Khyali Jana Rahim Bad Shah unconscious. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Mohammad Raees Mohammad Rahim, 34, of Warwickshires Way, is charged with her murder and a preliminary hearing was held at Lincoln Magistrates' Court on Monday.

The case was sent to Lincoln Crown Court, but Rahim was not produced from custody when his case was heard on Wednesday morning.

There was no bail application and Judge Simon Hirst adjourned the case for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 15 May.

The case was listed for trial at Lincoln Crown Court on 5 October.

Rahim remains remanded into custody until his next court appearance.
