House takes direct lightning hit amid thunderstorms
A house in Cleethorpes was damaged when it took a direct hit from a lightning strike as thunderstorms swept across the country in the early hours of Friday.
Video captured by a neighbour's doorbell camera showed the bolt hitting the roof and footage filmed later during daylight revealed the chimney had been badly damaged, leaving bricks strewn across the roof.
The incident came after the Met Office issued yellow thunderstorms warnings for parts of the UK, including Lincolnshire, until 21:00 BST on Friday.
The warning means storms could cause travel disruption, damage to homes and businesses and flooding.
People across Lincolnshire captured these striking images as lightning illuminated the night and early morning sky during the storms.
