Dr Nick Branch is due to start his new role in December

Dr Nick Branch has been appointed as the new clinical lead for Guernsey's Emergency Department.

The States of Guernsey said he would be replacing Dr Mat Dorrian who is moving into the role of medical director in December.

The government said Dr Branch had worked in the Emergency Department for six years and was "looking forward to the challenge that his new role would bring".

He is due to start his role on 1 December.

The government said Branch would work closely with his consultant colleagues, the ward manager and the department's executive team to ensure the department continued to provide a "high-quality service as demands continue to increase".
