A 16-year-old girl who was found unconscious in a street in Leeds died of a stab wound to the chest, an inquest has heard.

Chloe Watson Dransfield was discovered on Kennerleigh Avenue in Austhorpe shortly before 06:00 GMT on Saturday 28 March and died in hospital a short time later.

An inquest opening at Wakefield Coroner's Court on Friday heard how Chloe, who was from Gomersal, was pronounced dead at Leeds General Infirmary, with the chest stab wound established as the cause of death.

An 18-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy have all since appeared in court charged with her murder.

Adjourning the inquest, area coroner Oliver Longstaff said it would not be resumed until after the criminal investigation into Chloe's death was completed.
