Suspect charged after man dies following alleged attack

A 58-year-old man has been arrested and charged after a man died following an alleged assault in South Queensferry.

Emergency services were called to Morrison Gardens at about 06:10 where they found a 54-year-old man, who died at the scene.

Police are treating the death as suspicious and the road remains closed while officers investigate.

The 58-year-old man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.

Police Scotland said a post-mortem examination would be carried out in due course.

The force said there would be additional patrols are in the area to offer reassurance to the local community.
