Residents left with no water after main bursts
ReutersMany residents have been left with no water or low pressure following a burst main.
Thames Water engineers located the burst main on Braydon Road in Swindon, Wiltshire, and are working to restore the supply. The problem is affecting people living in the SN4, SN5, SN6 and GL7 post code areas.
The engineers were working to isolate the main, plan a repair and pump water into the network, a spokesperson from Thames Water said.
"We know how disruptive it is if you lose your water supply, so we'll work hard to get things back to normal as soon as we can," it added.
A bottled water station at Borough Fields Shopping Centre Car Park in Royal Wootton Bassett had to close temporarily earlier after stock became "depleted".
It will be available until 21:00 BST on Sunday.
A spokesperson from Thames Water said it was proactively contacting everybody affected by the burst main who had special requirements, such as being medically reliant on water, so it could provide them with the help and support they needed.
