Linner Sang died after an assault in Reading in September

A man has admitted murdering his ex-partner at the home they previously shared, in what police said was a planned attack.

Edwine Kiplangat, 29, of London Road, Reading, attacked Linner Sang, 39, on 7 September 2025 after she returned to the London Road address to collect property.

Police said Kiplangat then fled, "showing no regard for the injuries inflicted".

He was remanded in custody at a hearing at Reading Crown Court ahead of sentencing on 3 July.

Kiplangat also admitted two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm against two other people.

Following her death, colleagues who worked with Sang at Brookfields School in Tilehurst issued a tribute saying "it was a privilege to have known her".

They added that while she was "always professional", she "always had time to play and laugh with the students".

Det Chief Insp Stuart May, from Thames Valley Police, said: "Domestic abuse has no place in our communities and we will do everything we can to protect those at risk and hold offenders like Kiplangat to account."

He said anyone with concerns about their current or previous partners can make a request to police using Clare's Law.

Officially called the Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme, it was launched in 2014 to provide information within 28 days that could protect someone from being a victim of attack.

Clare's Law was named after Clare Wood, who was murdered by her ex-boyfriend in Salford in 2009.
