Thousands of Notts County fans descended on Nottingham city centre to celebrate promotion back to League One.

The Magpies ran out convincing 3-0 winners in their League Two play-off final against Salford City at Wembley, where temperatures topped 37C (98.6F).

The Greater Manchester side - watched by co-owners Sir David Beckham, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville - were no match for Notts as Alassana Jatta, Lucas Ness and Jodi Jones grabbed the goals.

Speaking on the balcony of Nottingham Council House with the winners' trophy, goalscorer Jones said: "It was amazing. We are back where we belong... it felt like a home game because of you guys."
