A man has died after being injured while carrying out work at a Worcestershire pub.

The incident happened at the Park Gate Inn on Stourbridge Road, Kidderminster, at about 12:40 BST on 8 April.

The 62-year-old was found in a critical condition before being taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and West Mercia Police confirmed he later died.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Inquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of death, however, there is not believed to be any third-party involvement or gross negligence."

They also added the Health and Safety Executive had been updated on the man's condition.

A spokesperson for The Park Gate said: "Our thoughts are with their family, friends and colleagues at this incredibly difficult time, and with everyone in the local community affected by this tragic loss.

"We kindly ask for privacy and understanding for all those impacted."
