Three accused of car murder appear in court

Three people have appeared in court charged with murder after a man was hit by a car in Barnsley.

Mark Wigley, 60, Sarah Louise Wigley, 38, and Neil Shaw, 53, all of Royston Road, Barnsley, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates' Court earlier.

They have all been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday.

Liam Green, 45, was struck by a white VW Touareg on Rose Tree Avenue, Cudworth, at about 17:00 BST on Friday and died at the scene.

The victim's family paid tribute to him on Sunday, saying they hoped he was "at peace now".

They said: "We all love you very much, sending you big hugs from your mam, sons, brother and family."
