Woman suffers serious injuries in alleyway attack

The woman's injuries are serious but not life threatening, according to police

A woman has suffered serious injuries to her face after she was approached near the border of Worcestershire and Birmingham.

The incident happened at about 02:10 BST on Saturday morning in an alleyway on Graham Crescent in Rubery, according to West Mercia Police.

The force said the victim, in her 40s, was attacked by an unknown man, who struck her head. Despite her serious injuries they are not said to be life-threatening.

Officers have been carrying out CCTV checks at the incident location, and it is said the suspect was wearing dark clothing and a suspected face covering.

Anyone who may have information that could help the investigation have been encouraged to come forward.
