Man arrested on suspicion of raping woman in Leeds
PA MediaA man has been arrested after a woman was raped in Leeds on Thursday evening.
West Yorkshire Police said the assault took place at about 22:00 BST in the Hyde Park area of the city.
The force said the woman was walking to a nearby shop when she was approached by a man on Autumn Avenue who then attacked her.
Officers said a man, in his 30s, had been arrested on suspicion of rape and remained in custody.
Det Insp Tom Crossfill said: "I would like to appeal for anyone who saw anything suspicious in or around Autumn Avenue last night which could assist in our investigation to please come forward."
